The opening price is read and written by the server from the Chainlink feed, never by your browser — otherwise you would pick it yourself and retry until you liked it.
One call a day, and no take-backsThe markets are closed right now, so today’s heist does not open. Stock feeds update 24/5, not 24/7: over the weekend the price is frozen by design. A counter running over a dead number would simulate a living system that is not there, so there is no counter.

no heist openThe daily heist needs a server-written opening price stored on our side. Without it there is no heist to play, and a demo one would be theatre presented as a game.
The book of names
Nobody has a streak yet.
A leaderboard needs a server that records calls against a price it wrote itself. Until that exists there is no table here — not a sample one, not a placeholder one. The addresses that used to sit here in the prototype were invented, and inventing five rows to make a panel look finished is exactly the habit this site exists to argue against.
Stock feeds update 24/5, not 24/7. The guard that decides whether a price counts as current checks the market calendar before it checks the heartbeat — because the heartbeat is 24 hours, and a price written on Friday evening stays inside it all through Saturday. On 8 August 2026 all 35 feeds were within heartbeat and all 35 had been frozen since Friday. A heartbeat-only guard would have called every one of them fresh.
